International B2B Matchmaking and Networking Event ICT Businesses from Kosovo and Slovenia meet in Ljubljana

The B2B and Matchmaking Event was organised during 4 –  7/October 2021 in Ljubljana/Slovenia where six Kosovar ICT companies had opportunity to meet with Slovenia ICT companies, aiming at exploring potential business opportunities and establish direct cooperation with them. The event was organised in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – GZS , which represents the Slovenian ICT Sector and with Enterprise Europe Network Kosovo (Prishtina REA & STIKK).

The event took place on 6 October 2021, at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and continued on 7 October with technical visits to the premises of Iskratel – the leading European provider of communications solutions for the digital transformation and Ljubljana Technology Park.

Day I Workshop and open discussion on Digitalisation, eID and Artificial Intelligence – 5 October – Ljubljana – University of Ljubljana – Faculty for Electrical Engineering

The workshop has been organized in cooperation with the professors from the University of Ljubljana on 5th October 2021 at premises of Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Kosovar managers of ICT companies met with Slovenian senior officials from public institutions and university representatives and shared knowledge and good practices about Artificial intelligence, e-services, e-signatures, clouding, computing and 5G education programming.

After a welcome speech from the representatives of University of Ljubljana, the event continue with the workshop session, where representative from Directorate for Information Society Mr. Samo Zorc conducted a presentation about the Artificial Intelligence.

During the open discussion session the Kosovar ICT managers continued discussion and sharing their experience, knowledge about the AI and they presented also the services and products they developed using AI.

The next topic – Services for Citizens – Electronic Identity was presented by Mrs.Tatjana Mizori Zupan – from Directorate for Informatics, continuing with presentation of Mr. Igor Bohinc on topic – consolidation/optimization of infrastructure in the state administration/Government Cloud.

Professor Bostjan Batagelj – presented its experience and knowledge about the 5G programming, and continued to present his research on 5G Research and Training as Cooperation between Academia and Industry.

During the open discussion Prof. Batagelj shared experience and knowledge about 5G and cooperation between academia and businesses.

Day II B2B Matchmaking Event – 6 October 2021 – Ljubljana – Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia

The event opened with a welcome speech provided by the Executive Director of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia Mr. Matej Rogelj, continuing with presentation by the Communication Expert Mr. Bashkim Islami. In his speech the Communication Expert presented the aim, activities and achievements of ICT for Kosovo’s Growth project, highlighted the importance of the event and encouraged the participants to explore the opportunities towards establishing direct cooperation between Kosovar and Slovenian ICT companies.

The total number of the participants was 15, 6 representatives from Kosovo ICT companies and 9 representatives from Slovenia Companies. 35 B2B meetings were finally conducted (11 of them online since two Slovenia managers preferred to do online meetings)

Visiting Ljubljana Technology Park

During the second day the Kosovar ICT businesses visited Ljubljana Technology Park

Technology Park Ljubljana (TP LJ) is a 3rd generation contemporary science and technology park. Established in 1995, the park aims to provide a supportive and stimulating business environment for the development of high-tech entrepreneurship and presents the largest business center in SEE. As a leading national stakeholder for development of innovative and knowledge-based entrepreneurship in Slovenia and an innovation hub, one of its most important roles is to support talents and TP LJ’s community of 300 companies with specialized support services, coaching, access to funding and landing program customized according to specific business needs of companies and start-ups entering Slovenian market.

Visiting Iskratel

The participants from Kosovo, visited the Slovenian ICT Company Iskratel, where the company representatives presented the profile of the company, its projects, perspective of 5G and Smart Sustainable Specialisation.
