The B2B and Matchmaking Event was organised during 13 – 14/June 2022 in Milan/Italy where four Kosovar ICT companies and three ICT Start-ups had opportunity to meet with Italian ICT companies and start-ups, aiming at exploring potential business opportunities and establish direct cooperation with them. The event was organised in cooperation with Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini SRL, Innovation Centre Kosovo and Enterprise Europe Network Kosovo (Prishtina REA & STIKK).
The B2B meetings took place on 13 June 2022, at Fondazione Giacomo Borodolini continued with visits to PoliHub and Milano Luiss Hub for Makers and Students and with a workshop “Thematic Salon – Digitalization – The Way We Prosper” in Kosovo Consulate in Milan. On 14 June the participants from Kosovo ICT companies and start-ups had the opportunity to visit to the premises of Google, IBM and Microsoft and follow very interesting presentations on the latest trends of ICT technology.
Day I
The B2B Matchmaking Event kicked off with Mr. Fabio Sgaragli of “Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini” moderating, followed by Mrs. Virginia Bonsignore of the Municipality of Milan welcoming the Kosovo delegation and discussing the ICT Industry in Milan and Italy.
H.E. Ambassador Lendita Haxhitasim of Kosovo in Italy expressed gratitude to the participants and encouraged business partnerships between Kosovo and Italy. Three presentations covered Digital Transformation, SMEs, and New Technologies.
The next session, moderated by Mr. Jetullahu-Meti, featured discussions on Kosovo’s ICT industry, the EU-funded project “ICT for Kosovo’s Growth,” Kosovo Government’s ICT investments, and the national startup ecosystem showcased by Innovation Center Kosovo (ICK). The next session of the first day, continued with the most important activity, which was the B2B matchmaking event, as per the arranged meetings through the B2match platform, starting with the pitch presentation of the Kosovo ICT businesses and ICT start-ups.
8 Kosovar participants, start-ups and businesses from Kosovo had the chance to give Pitch Presentations (3 min each).
During the B2B Meetings, there were 45 meetings organized among ICT companies from Italy and Kosovo, exploring their potential business partnership opportunities. The representatives of the companies were able to discuss direct business issues of mutual interest.
The evening session (19:00 – 21:00) continued a workshop “Thematic Salon – Digitalization – The Way We Prosper” organized in cooperation with Kosovo Embassy in Rome in the premises of Kosovo Consulate in Milan, with the participation of 46 students and start-ups. The panel composed by: H.E. Ambassador Lendita Haxhitasim, Mr. Ahmet Jetullahu – Director of Prishitna REA, Mr. Uranik Begu – ICK Kosovo, Albi Hoxha – digitalRELIGHT PMI, Palolo and Redi, presented and discussed about the importance of the digitalisation where participants had opportunities to address their questions and experiences!
Day II
Visiting Google Company
During the second day the Kosovar ICT businesses visited Google Company in Milan a part of Google global network of 34 regions and 103 zones, bringing Google Cloud services to users in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
Further Senior team of Google Cloud in Milan, presented the company’s data, mission, vision, ongoing projects and their strategic orientation.
Visiting IBM Company
The next visit was organized to the IBM Studios Milano. A presentation about IBM latest activities and strategic choices of company took place followed by discussion session in order to explore the possible cooperation and partnership in the sense of outsourcing, promotion, and business cooperation.
During the discussion session, the participants had opportunity to ask questions and discuss a number of issues.
Visiting MICROSOFT Milan
The last visit was organized at Microsoft office Milan. The Microsoft Technology Centre Director –Mr. Andrea Cardillo, presented the Microsoft innovation projects. One of the key projects presented was Microsoft Metaverse followed with the discussion session in order to explore possible cooperation and partnership.
