On November 2, 2022, the EU Support to the Competitiveness of the Kosovo ICT Sector project organized a B2B event in Prishtina. This event brought together the DigiWomen Cluster and traditional women-owned businesses to explore mutual business opportunities in digitalization and export development.
The event was co-organized by the EU-funded ICT for Kosovo’s Growth project, the European Union Office in Kosovo, the Ministry of Economy, and the Municipality of Prishtina. Over 70 business participants from both the ICT digital sector and traditional businesses attended the event.
Mr. Grigoris Kontzoglou, the Team Leader for the project, introduced the project’s objectives and achievements. Deputy Mayor Ms. Donjeta Sahatçiu expressed her support for digital transformation and the Municipality’s commitment to enhancing business competitiveness and internationalization. Ms. Leonora Kusari from the EBRD Kosovo Office provided insights into available financial support and consultation services for grant applications. Additionally, Mrs. Vjollca Çavolli, the Director of STIKK, emphasized her belief in the potential for digitalizing women-owned traditional businesses with the help of the DigiWomen Cluster.
During the event, ICT companies had the opportunity to present their products and services through 5-minute presentations. These sessions allowed local businesses to gain valuable information about available ICT solutions for their digitalization and internationalization needs.
At the end of the event, B2B meetings took place between DigiWomen Cluster members and traditional women-owned businesses. These meetings explored possible avenues for collaboration and how digitalization could enhance business growth and export capabilities.
Over 70 attendees participated in the event, including 7 ICT companies (e.g., Nerdy Creative, Appdec, Women in Tech, LinkPlus, Innovation Academy, Cacttus, and an independent ICT service provider). Also present were over 30 traditional women-owned businesses. The event offered an excellent opportunity for participants to connect, discuss common goals, and explore future collaborations.
ICT Companies: Presenting their solutions, ICT companies provided traditional businesses with information on how their products and services can facilitate digital transformation and improve internationalization.
Non-ICT Companies: Women-owned businesses from various sectors had the opportunity to interact directly with ICT providers, exchanging information, contacts, and brochures. This exchange laid the foundation for future collaborations.
The event resulted in valuable contacts and linkages that could lead to new business opportunities. Participants embraced the importance of integrating technology into their operations and agreed on the potential benefits of continued collaboration.
