On April 28, 2021, the ICT for Kosovo’s Growth project organized a Regional B2B meeting at the City Theatre in Gjilan, Kosovo. The event aimed to connect ICT sector businesses with non-ICT businesses focused on development and exporting. The meeting was open to the public, with all participants adhering to anti-COVID measures.
Mr. Lutfi Haziri, Mayor of Gjilan, was the keynote speaker. He addressed various issues affecting industries and emphasized the importance of digitalization. He also discussed the creation of a Food Institute in Gjilan and the local authorities’ support for businesses in the region.
Mr. Agron Namani, CEO of ASK Food, spoke about his company’s success after integrating technology and digitalization into its operations. He praised the event for providing valuable networking opportunities and creating the potential for future collaborations.
Mr. Art Navakazi, a representative from STIKK (The Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology), highlighted the role of STIKK in connecting technology leaders and supporting innovation within the industry.
Following the presentations, prearranged bilateral B2B meetings took place. A total of 31 B2B meetings were held. Attendees discussed how to integrate ICT into the agriculture and food production industry, which is highly developed in the Gjilan region.
The event included 9 ICT companies and 10 production companies. The discussions were productive, leading to concrete proposals for cooperation. All participants recognized the importance of integrating technology into both production and management systems.
The event underscored the need for ICT integration in all areas of business. Participants agreed that digital tools can help improve efficiency, competitiveness, and growth. The B2B format allowed businesses to share their ICT needs and explore how technology could support their goals.
The event was a valuable opportunity for businesses in Gjilan to collaborate and discuss technology integration. It created a foundation for future partnerships and innovation.
